A Reflection for Christmas Day 2015

Introduction :

God willed to share in our human condition to the point of becoming one with us in the person of Jesus Christ, who is "True Man and True God".

However, there is something even more surprising. The presence of God among men did not take place in a perfect world, but rather in this real world, which is marked by so many things both good and bad, by division, by wickedness, by poverty, by arrogance, and finally by war.

He chose to live in our history as it is, with all the weight of its limitations and of its tragedies.

In doing so, he has demonstrated in an unequalled manner his merciful and truly loving disposition towards humans.

He is God - with us. Jesus Christ is God- with - us.

Jesus Christ is God with us always and forever with us in history's suffering and sorrow.

The Birth of Jesus Christ reveals that God "sided" with man once and for all, to save us, to raise us from the dust of our misery, from our difficulty, and from our sins.

Conclusion :

This is the great "gift" of the Child of Bethlehem. He gives us a spiritual energy, an energy which enables us not to despair in our struggles, in our hopelessness, in our sadness, for it is an energy that transforms us.

Indeed, the Birth of Jesus Christ brings us delightful news that we are loved immensely and uniquely by God, and he not only enables us to know this love, but he communicates it to us !!

An Indian Princess who became a Catholic Christian

This is a simple story of an Indian Princess who lived in North India from the Mid or Late - 1700's to the early 1800's and who was a fervent Catholic Christian.

She was a Catholic Christian out of conviction and not for "Material Benefits" as she was quite rich in her own right.

I am talking about Begum Yohanna Sumru of Sardhana.

She converted to Catholicism after a number of years. She was married to a French Colonel by the name of Walter Reinhardt Sumru.

She had a great devotion to Our Lady and built a Church -Shrine in honor of Our Lady of all Graces.

Note : Begum Yohanna Sumru is the only "Royalty" in India who became a Catholic Christian.

A Little Hero of Christ

Introduction :

Theophane  was born in a little village called Saint Loup in France. When he was nine years old and looking after the goats of the family a companion read out a piece of news to him from a recent missionary magazine. It was the narration of how the missionary Father Charles Corney was martyred in TongKing, Indo - China (now present day Vietnam).

Little Theophane had tears in his eyes on hearing of the tortures this holy priest had undergone. "I too will go to Tongking and shall die for Christ !!" he said.

Soon after, that Theophane  joined the Seminary and was ordained a Priest. His mind was now set on Indo-China. He went to the South Seas, and in a Chinese Junk managed to get to Tongking.

It was 1858, these were difficult times for the Catholic Church there. The French Missionaries had succeeded in winning over to "Our Lord" 140,000 souls but now due to fierce persecution all this work seemed to be wiped off !!

"We are like birds on the branch of a tree, always on the alert", Father Theophane wrote. We hide in little boats, or in caverns, or in the tombs in the mountains, where we run the risk of being buried alive. "One day we had to remain in one of these tombs for eight hours, being able to breathe only through a bamboo tube".

Then for a space of two years, Father Theophane was on the run. He hid in the mountains, moved from village to village, all the time teaching, preaching, and administering the sacraments.

He saw the Catholic Christians being put to death by the most horrible tortures, and the Catholic Schools and Catholic Churches destroyed.

Conclusion :

In November 1860, Father Theophane was caught and in chains taken from village to village. The executioner asked for a tip to do the work quickly. Poor Father Theophane who had no money replied "Take your time, friend!! The good Father was then stripped of all his clothes, except the trousers and by a blunt sword the head was severed.

The Blood of this young priest drenched the sands of Indo China !! (now present day Vietnam).

All this happened not very long ago !!

Note: The Catholic Church in Vietnam is red with the blood of martyrs. There are at least 100 canonized martyrs in the Catholic Church in Vietnam.

The most prominent Vietnamese Catholic Saint is Saint Andrew Dung Lac. He too was martyred for the Catholic Faith.

Today, in North Vietnam and in the Highlands in Central Vietnam large numbers of people are embracing Christ and the Catholic Faith.

May God bless abundantly the Catholic Church in Vietnam. It is often said that the Blood of Martyrs is the seed of the Church -that is so true in the case of Vietnam.

Vietnam has approximately 8 Million Catholics roughly 10% of the population and growing.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Patroness of the Americas

Introduction :

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is December 12. The one request that Mother Mary made to the Bishop through Saint Juan Diego was that a chapel be built so that all of her children could come to her "Beloved Son" in the Blessed Sacrament.

When we see a picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe she appears to be standing in the midst of glorious rays coming from the sun. In Fact, these rays are not coming from the rays of the sun in the sky, but rather the divine rays of the Son in the Blessed Sacrament.

The higher meaning of the "Woman clothed with the Sun" is Mary's perfect union with Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. This is what is meant by the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary. These two hearts are perfectly united and now beat as one.

The meaning of Our Lady of Guadalupe is this. She is proclaiming the "Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament" giving witness to his healing rays, represented by the glorious rays surrounding her.

At the same time, she is announcing to the world the great "Eucharistic Miracle" to come when the divine rays of his mercy and love will shine out from the Blessed Sacrament in radiant splendour.

This "Eucharistic Miracle" will be brighter than the Sun and it will take place in every chapel of perpetual adoration where Jesus Christ is loved and adored day and night without pause.

This is why we meditate during December on the prophetic words from Isaiah : "No Longer will your teacher hide himself ". (Isaiah 30:20) "He will destroy the veil that veils all peoples". (Isaiah 25:7).

The "Veil" is what prevents us from seeing the glorious "Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament".

The first thing that Saint Juan Diego saw was a brilliant light. Out of the light the Blessed Mother appeared.

It is the "considered opinion" of many associated with the devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe that the light that Saint Juan Diego saw was a "Glorified Host" from which the Blessed Mother appeared.

Everything that this marvellous light touched was transformed. For Example, the rocks on the mountainside were transformed into precious stones. From the snow in the cold of winter, grew the loveliest roses Saint Juan Diego ever saw.

Conclusion :

When Saint Juan Diego took the roses to the Bishop as proof that he had a heavenly vision there was a great surprise. His clothing was transformed into the "Image" of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

This Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is known as "The Tilma".

Our Lady of Guadalupe is the "Patroness of the Americas".

Happy Feast to one and all.

FYI- Guadalupe is situated in Mexico City, Mexico. There is a magnificent Basilica dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe there.

Saint Catherine Laboure -- Visionary of the Miraculous Medal

Introduction :

The Feast of Saint Catherine Laboure is on November 28th.

A most unforgettable impression of Paris is the Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal at 140 Rue Du Bac.

There you can gaze into the most beautiful blue eyes of a woman who kept a secret for forty six years : Catherine Laboure.

What was that secret ?? That she was the Nun to whom Mother Mary appeared, asking for a Medal to be struck and a statue to be sculpted.

The Fact that she rested her hands on the lap of the Blessed Mother during one of the many apparitions did not make her a saint; her sanctity consists of 50 years of faithful service as a "Daughter of Charity".

She personally worked no miracles, nor did she practice external heroic charity like Saint Martin De Porres.

She was not materially poor as were Bernadette Soubirous of Lourdes and the children of Fatima; rather she sprang from upper middle - class parents from among the meadows and vineyards of Burgundy, France.

Her Father was an educated man and an excellent farmer living in the village of  Fain - Les - Moutiers, not far from the city of Dijon in France.

Catherine Laboure was born on May 2, 1806.

The Medal :

God chose Catherine Laboure  to usher in the "Marian Age".

During, one of the many apparitions -- the Blessed Mother asked Catherine Laboure  to have a Medal struck.

On one side, of the Medal there should be a huge Letter M with a cross above it. The Letter should rest on a bar, beneath which should appear two hearts.

On the other side of the Medal, there should be an inscription " O Mary conceived without sin, Pray for us who have recourse to thee".

The first heart, should be encircled by a crown of thorns and the second should be pierced by a sword.

The Letter "M" is for Mary and Mother since she is indeed the Mother of God's people -- a people founded on the twelve apostles, signified by the twelve stars arranged around the side.

The two hearts are those of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary. God's message for Mary was one of suffering : A Sword will pierce your Heart -- just as the heart of her son would be pierced by a soldier's lance.

Catherine asked how she was to have the medal struck. Mother Mary replied that she was to go to her confessor : Father Jean Marie Aladel.

Father Aladel at first, did not believe Catherine; however after 2 years he finally went to the Archbishop of Paris who ordered 2,000 medals struck.

A Conversion wrought by the Miraculous Medal :

Alfonse Ratisbonne was a wealthy Jewish Lawyer and Banker of Strasbourg who hated Catholicism.

A Catholic Friend gave him a Miraculous Medal, daring him to wear it and say the Memorare.

Not long after, Ratisbonne went to the Church of Saint Andrea Della Fratte. At the front door; a menacing black dog met him, but vanished soon after.

Later, a brilliant light emanated from the Guardian Angel Chapel and he saw Mother Mary as on the Miraculous Medal.

He was converted right there and begged for immediate baptism.

This request was not immediately granted, however after some instruction in the faith, the Jesuits baptized him at the Church of the Gesu in Rome, Italy.

After spending some time with the Jesuits, he joined the Congregation of Our Lady of Zion for the evangelization of the Jews.

For thirty years, he labored in the Holy Land as an intrepid missionary to his own kind.

With Mary once More :

On the 31st of December 1876, Catherine Laboure passed into the arms of Mary.

Today, her beautiful remains lie fresh and serene; her eyes are a brilliant blue and her arms and legs are supple; she does not seem dead.

The Miraculous Medal, challenges us to look at life again and accept the protection and encouragement offered to us by the Mother of Jesus Christ.

Conclusion :

On May 28, 1933 Pope Pius, the 12th beatified Catherine Laboure.

Her incorrupt body is now encased in glass beneath the side altar at 140 Rue Du Bac, Paris beneath one of the places where Our Lady appeared to her.

Her Marvelous Blue Eyes, attract visitors from every corner of the globe.

Pope Paul, The Sixth had to say the following about the Miraculous Medal :

"The Miraculous Medal is no good -luck charm. It is a reminder that Our Lady is a sure hope for those troubled in mind as they often are; divided in heart, and troubled about life itself.

Saint Martin of Tours -- A Soldier of Jesus Christ

Introduction :

He was not just another saint, he was one of the most outstanding saints in the great history of the early "Catholic Church", specially in the Church in France.

The Feast of Saint Martin of Tours is on the 11th of November that is precisely today. He was a "Roman Soldier" before he became an "Eloquent Preacher" of Christ and his Gospel.

Saint Martin of Tours was called the "Apostle of the Gauls" because of his efforts to evangelize and organize the Church in that region. He lived from 317 A.D. - 397 A.D.

Because of his wisdom and his zeal he was held up as a "model" for the entire "Gallic Region" of France.

Although, he was born a Roman in what is today "Hungary" then called "Pannonia" by the Romans; he is considered predominantly a French Saint -- A bit like Saint Francis of Assisi for Italy.

For this reason, the name Martin is very common in many European Countries.

His cult spread swiftly throughout France and Italy too, where many Churches were dedicated to him.

This phenomenon is observed also in Spain, England, Holland, and of course in Hungary as well.

In Germany, he is honoured in one of the most beautiful "Romanesque" Churches -- The Great Church of Saint Martin at Cologne.

Conclusion :

The Poet Fortunatus was right when he wrote : "Where Christ is known, Martin is honoured".

Today The 28th of October, is the Feast of Saint Jude Thaddeus -- Help of the Hopeless.

By reason, of the fearful treason of Judas Iscariot against Our Saviour, the name of Jude fell in such disrepute that even the Holy Apostle Jude Thaddeus suffered thereby.

It seems Our Lord Jesus Christ, wishes to repair the honour of the Apostle by giving aid to those in extreme distress if they invoke his aid. Jude Thaddeus was a near relative of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary.

This glorious Apostle, was most zealous in spreading the Gospel in countries such as Ancient Mesopotamia, Ancient Persia, and Ancient Armenia.

He converted a multitude of souls and finished his career by a heroic death.

Our Lord Jesus Christ himself, directed Saint Bridget to turn with great confidence to Saint Jude, "In accordance with his surname -- Thaddeus which means amiable, loving said Jesus Christ, "He will show himself most willing to give help".

It is related that this Apostle, once appeared to a devout client and expressed his regret that so few Christians think of invoking his aid and protection.

Introduction :

It is my objective and endeavour to bring Ex-Catholics back to the Catholic Church in 2015 as well as in 2016. I intend to achieve this through "Catholic Classics".

What I mean is this -- I want Catholics who have left the Catholic Church to read awesome and amazing "Catholic Books" posted on my Catholic Blog.

Many Catholics in India specially in "Metro Cities" have left the Catholic Church and have joined "Non - Denominational Churches".

Most of them are unaware of  "Catholic Classics" which encompass and explain the beautiful Catholic Faith.

In Cities like Mumbai in Maharashtra, Panjim and Margao in Goa, Bangalore in Karnataka, and Chennai in Tamil Nadu Catholics have left the Church for a variety of reasons; mostly for monetary reasons but some have also left because of animosity with Priests, or Nuns, or Bishops.

Let me tell you my personal story with regard to "Catholic Classics" and how they changed my life forever.

In Mid- 2012, 3 years back, I was quite angry with Catholic Priests because of negative experiences I had with them while growing up in Mumbai.

In the latter half of 2012, while surfing the "Net" for Catholic Websites I came across a beautiful, outstanding, and extra-ordinary Catholic Website called "E-Catholic 2000"-- "Catholics for the Third Millenium".

Once, I entered this amazing website I happened to stumble across four Catholic Classics--

1) Calvary and the Mass.

2) True Devotion to Mary.

3)  Secret of the Rosary.

4) Secret of Mary.

After reading these 4 Catholic Classics over a number of months - I lost all animosity I may have had against Catholic Priests in Mumbai or anywhere else.

I promise you that when you read these 4 books, you will be changed forever and will fall in love with the Catholic - Christian Faith instantly as I did.

These are 4 Books, that positively changes lives and souls.

Read them and you will never be sorry that you visited my "Catholic Blog" accidentally or purposely.

These "Catholic Classics" proudly promote Jesus Christ as the "Centre of our Faith".

The Catholic Church is more than 2000 years old. Let us never forget that.

These Catholic Classics present to us the vibrant Catholic Faith as it has been through the centuries.

Conclusion :

No one will ever regret reading "Catholic Books" @ my blog. These Catholic Books help to build one up in the faith and help to strengthen one about the truths of the Catholic Faith.

I strongly recommend 4 Catholic Classics to Catholics who have left the Church and who might visit my Catholic Blog in the future.

1) Calvary and the Mass

2)  True Devotion to Mary

3) Secret of the Rosary

4)  Secret  of Mary

Happy and Holy Reading.

Note : If I am a Catholic Today it is only because of "'E-CATHOLIC 2000 -CATHOLICS FOR THE THIRD MILLENIUM". They strengthened me in the Catholic Faith like no tomorrow.

A Christopher

First of all, I would like to say that a "Christopher" is a "Bearer of Christ".

Here is what Catherine De Heuck has to say about a "Catholic Priest".

1. A Priest is a Lover of God.

2. A Priest is a Lover of Souls.

3. A Priest is a Holy Man because he walks before the Face of the all Holy.

4. A Priest understands all things.

5. A Priest forgives all things.

6. A Priest encompasses all things. The Heart of a Priest like Christ's; is pierced with the lance of love.

7. The Heart of a Priest is open, like Christ's, for the whole world to walk through. The Heart of a Priest is a vessel of compassion. The Heart of a Priest is a chalice of love.

8. A Priest is a man whose goal is to be another Christ.

9.  A Priest is a man who lives to serve. A Priest is a man who has crucified himself, so that he too may be lifted up and draw all things to Christ.

10.  A Priest is a man in love with God.

11. A Priest is the gift of God to man, and of man to God.

12. A Priest is a symbol of the Word made flesh.

13. A Priest is the sword of "God's Justice".

14. A Priest is the hand of God's Mercy.

15. A Priest is the reflection of God's Love.

He teaches God to us. He brings God to us. He represents God to us.

That is what, a Priest must be - that is what a Priest must bring to us of the Lay Apostolate !!

That, and nothing more .............................. Amen.

Mass is over. Jesus Christ and I are alone together.

Just "All by Ourselves". If I can, I will always remain after Mass and make a good Thanksgiving.

This maybe my last Communion; I will make it my best. This maybe my last Thanksgiving; I will make it my best.

Thanks to others always, but always thanks to God; and with all my heart- these few are precious moments.

"Jesus Christ, I believe that you are my God. I believe that I have received your Body, your Blood, Your Soul, and Your Divinity.

You are my Creator, My Redeemer, My Sanctifier, My God for all eternity".

"Jesus Christ, I adore you as the Angels and Saints do in Heaven. My Lord, My God, My All !!"

"O Sacrament most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, All Praise and All Thanksgiving be every moment Thine".

"Jesus Christ, I thank you, now in my heart, for all that You have done for me; for all that You have given me.

For the gifts of my body: for my eyes, my ears, my tongue, my hands, my feet. (some cannot speak, see, and hear, as I can).

Thanks for my health. Thanks too, if sickness comes; Your Holy Will be done.

Thanks for the gifts of my soul, my memory, my intellect, my will.

Thanks for my heart; with all my heart I love your "Sacred Heart".

Thanks for this Holy Mass and my Holy Communion.

"Forgive me all my sins. All my sins of the day and all my sins of the night, even the least.

I will try never to sin again.

"Help me in temptation- Give me a quick and a strong will. Help me always to say "No" to Sin. - "No" to the occasions of sin, specially of my past sins. Take out of my heart all desire for any sin. Bring Sinners back. Keep me True".

Important :

"Jesus Christ, Bless me. Make me "just like you" and "just like Mary", pure and kind and prudent and brave. Inspire me to do only what is best.

Give me zeal. "Make me an Apostle". Give me souls and make a saint of me."

"Jesus Christ, I put my heart inside the open wound of your Sacred Heart. At times, I'm discouraged, my heart aches, it is almost broken; Yours ached first and most. It was pierced on the Cross for me.

Jesus Christ, Help me to carry my cross. Give me courage.

Jesus Christ, Bless the Catholic Church; our Holy Father; our Bishops; and all Priests.

Bless all Religious Brothers and Sisters.

Conclusion :

"Jesus Christ, Bless Vocations. Call many to "Follow You". Tell me what you want me to do for you. Bless non- catholics and draw them to Your Sacred Heart.

"Bless the Missions and the Millions of pagans in the world. You died for them as well as for me. I love them for your sake" Amen.

Eucharist-The Presence of Divine Mercy

In his great love for us, Lord Jesus Christ gave us a great miracle of mercy- the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.

Christ's Resurrection into glory was not the final reason for the Incarnation, when God became Man. The Incarnation looked forward to Jesus Christ remaining with us to the end of time in the Eucharist.

By this greatest miracle of his love, Jesus Christ remains with us under the form of bread and wine, not only for our spiritual nourishment, but to be kept company by us as well.

In the Holy Eucharist, Christ is fully present as he is in Heaven. The Eucharist explains Pope Leo, The 13th contains "in a variety of miracles, all supernatural realities".  ( Encyclical Mirae Caritatis)

The Eucharist is central to the devotion to the Divine Mercy and many of the elements of the devotion are essentially Eucharistic- specially the Image - Jesus, I trust in you, the Chaplet, and the Feast of Divine Mercy (Divine Mercy Sunday). ,

The Image, with its red and pale rays presents the Eucharistic Lord Jesus Christ, whose Heart has been pierced and now pours forth blood and water as a fountain of mercy for us. It is the Image of God's sacrificial gift of mercy made present in every mass.

Several Times in her Diary, Saint Faustina writes of seeing the red and pale rays coming not from the image, but from the Sacred Host; and once as the Priest exposed the Blessed Sacrament, she saw the rays from the Image pierce the Host and spread out from it all over the world.

So, too with eyes of faith we should see in every host the "Merciful Saviour" pouring himself out as a fountain of mercy for us.

This concept of the Eucharist as a fountain of grace and mercy is not only found in the "Divine Mercy Diary" but also in Church Teaching.

The Church clearly teaches that all the other sacraments are directed towards the "Holy Eucharist" and draw their power from it.

October 7, 2015 Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary

Our Lady of the Holy Rosary - Hope for the World

Introduction :

Our Lady at various times has appeared and requested that her "Rosary" be said for specific causes.

In our own century, she has made it known that her Rosary is a "Power"  for overcoming "Paganism and Materialism".

Many Stories can be told of conversions brought about by the recitation of the Rosary.

A Miracle wrought by the Rosary:

Saint Vincent Ferrer was once called to the sick bed of a dying man to administer the sacraments. The Sick Man would have nothing to do with the Priest and continued to swear and blaspheme.

Saint Vincent tried every remedy he knew to persuade the dying man, but to no avail. He then turned to the bystanders and urged them to recite the Rosary with him. At the conclusion of the Rosary, the sick man begged to go to "Confession" and then died a peaceful death.

October is the month of the Holy Rosary. Make it part of your daily life.

The Rosary has long been a favourite prayer of the Catholic Christian. The Beads tell us all that we need to know what began in childhood - the great scenes of "Christ's Life" and his "Mother Mary".

Pope Paul, the Sixth said it this way : "Do not fail to lay careful stress on the saying of the Rosary, the prayer so dear to "Our Lady" and so highly recommended by the "Supreme Pontiffs" down the ages.

By this means, the faithful can most pleasantly and effectively carry out our "Divine Master's" command :

"Ask and it shall be given you- seek and you shall find - Knock, and it shall be opened".

In Need ?? Lost ?? Locked Out ?? A Rosary, Your Rosary..... Today and everyday !!

All of us know, that when you love someone very much you want to be with the one you love. A Mother can hardly wait to hold her newborn infant. A Father's Joy is to be with his children. Friends treasure the moments they spend together. Sweethearts love so deeply they find it painful to part.

We know that the more one loves, the more one wants to be with the object of one's affection. This explains the very mystery of our catholic faith the mystery of the "Real Presence". Jesus Christ stays with us day and night in the Blessed Sacrament simply because he loves each of us so much that he never wants to leave us.

Jesus Christ exclaims, "Behold, I will be with you always even until the end of the world (Matthew 28:20) Why ?? Because "I have loved you with an everlasting love and constant is my affection for you.

Again, "I will restore you and you shall be rebuilt". (Jeremiah 31: 3 )

This is the message of the Sacred Heart. At the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Paray-Le-Monial France, there is a message inscribed on the wall: "If you believe in my love, if you really believe in my love then you shall see miracles of my love. I will reign in every heart and my victory shall be total and complete for I will reign through the omnipotence of my love in the Blessed Sacrament.

This is what Jesus Christ told Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque to tell the world. The key word is "omnipotent" all powerful. His Heart in the Blessed Sacrament is on fire with love for each person.

He wanted to make it unmistakably clear that devotion to his Sacred Heart is devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. The Blessed Sacrament is the Sacred Heart of Jesus living in our midst today !!

His appeal through Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque is more urgent today than it was then : "I thirst with such a terrible thirst to be loved in this most Blessed Sacrament".

His message is that the Eucharist is not a thing, but a person, the person of Jesus Christ himself.

In the Blessed Sacrament, he said we would find the most loving of all Father's, our very best friend, with the tenderest of all hearts.

Saint John Vianney saw with his very own eyes Jesus Christ cup the face of each person who visited him in the Blessed Sacrament and give each one a tender kiss of gratitude. " I draw them with hands of love ........ I fostered them like one who raises an infant to his cheeks". (Hosea 11:4)

This is the tenderness we find in the Blessed Sacrament from a heart which is the most appreciative of our love. Jesus Christ asked "Who touched me referring to a woman who touched the tassel on his cloak. He wanted to know who touched him because "Power has gone out from me". (Luke 8:45)

Power goes out from Jesus Christ with each "Holy Hour" we make. Each Holy Hour touches his heart and releases his healing love upon the earth until one day there will be a new and a second pentecost.

The "Fire" that will destroy the materialistic world will be the fire of "Divine Love". The Fire of his heart will destroy the cold hatred of this world and establish the Kingdom of his Divine Love (Peter 3:10).

"Perpetual Adoration" will be the cause and the catalyst of this cosmic event.

Introduction :

In the first centuries of the Church it was the custom to give to little children who had not yet lost the innocence of their baptism the "Consecrated Species" which remained after the Communion of the Faithful.

One day, a child the son of a Jewish Glass Founder of Constantinople while going to school with other "Christian Children" had followed them to the Church and innocently presented himself like the others and received the fragments of the "Holy Eucharist".

A Frightful Ordeal :

Having returned home, he narrated simply to his Father what he had done. The Father, then a most brutal man and one of the most passionate Jews against everything christian became at once infuriated. He seized the unfortunate child and threw him alive in one of his burning furnaces.

Sometime after that, the mother who had been away during the tragedy came home and not knowing what had taken place asked everywhere for her son.

As nobody could tell her where he could be, she went all about the town searching and asking for him but all was in vain.

Three days had already elapsed, and unconsolable the poor mother still wept bitterly over her lost child and in the excess of her sorrow she happened to call him aloud by his name as if he were present.

A Miracle :

Suddenly, A Wonder !! A Voice answered her and called to her by the tender name of Mother !!

Much moved, she ran to the furnace from where the voice seemed to come. She opened the lid and A Miracle !! Her son, was there in the middle of the flames but quite alive and uninjured.

She called her neighbours to her help and they too witnessed the miracle.

Our Lady's Presence :

The Child was drawn out and questioned how he had fallen into that burning furnace and how his life had been preserved in the middle of such a fire.

He answered that his Father had thrown him there, for having assisted at a Catholic Christian function but that a beautiful Lady radiant with light had preserved him from the flames by covering him with her cloak; she had even given him to eat to satisfy his hunger; and she looked exactly like the pious image he had seen in the Church of the Catholic Christians.

All understood then that it was the "Divine Mother of Jesus Christ" namely Mary who had saved his life and preserved him from the flames of the furnace.

Conclusion :

The Roman Emperor hearing of the cruel act of this unnatural father had him arrested and punished.

The wretched man instead of converting himself persisted the more in his error; but the mother and the child sought instruction in the "Catholic Religion" received baptism and became fervent Catholic Christians.

In Portugal, there exists a crown of the "Blessed Mother" where Saint Pope John Paul -2 placed two bullets which struck him when he was the Pope at Saint Peter's Square on May 13, 1981.

I believe that this symbolizes Our Lady's Triumph. She will turn everything around and even the most vicious efforts of her enemies will be used to make even brighter, her "Crown of Glory".

The triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary will be the Eucharistic Reign of her son through the flourishing of "Perpetual Adoration" which will bring about the "New Era" a second, a new, and a more glorious earthly paradise.

This is why, Saint Pope John Paul -2 was allowed by God to be shot on May 13th. It is the Feast of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. The Pope is the Vicar of Christ.

The significance of him being shot on the Feast Day Of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament is this. It graphically illustrates the horror and evil of the unrelenting attacks on the Blessed Sacrament.

The World was in shock when Saint Pope John Paul -2 was shot. What would be more terrible ?? As, blatantly and tragically horrible as this scene was, of the Pope Saint John Paul -2 being shot, even worse is the unseen attacks on the "One" he serves so well, the Lord Himself in the most Blessed Sacrament.

Are we moved to do something about it ??

Denial of the Real Presence, ridicule of exposition, and specially attacks on "Perpetual Adoration" are common place. Read the Book of Revelation and the battle lines of war become clear once you know that the "Woman" is Mother Mary against the 'Dragon- Satan' fighting the "Lamb" - Jesus Christ in the most Blessed Sacrament.

Who are the Kings who fight against the "Lamb" ?? They are those in authority in the Church who fight against the Blessed Sacrament. But "The Lamb" will be victorious because he is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings and those with him are called chosen and faithful. (Revelation 17:14).

Many people - Soldiers and Ordinary Folk were killed during World War -2. How many brave men in the past century alone have fought and died for love of their country ??

How many wars have been fought for Peace and Freedom ?? and yet, look how far we are away from either.

There is only "One War" worth fighting for. "Standing up for Christ in the Blessed Sacrament today is like standing up for Christ when he was on the Cross !!".

What we need today is an "Army of Priests" who are willing to fight, by standing up and being counted for the cause of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.

Conclusion :

There are 2 Catholic Cardinals from Asia, who I admire a lot. One of them is the "Holy Cardinal" of Cebu in the Phillipines and Cardinal Sin of the Archdiocese of Manila.

Cardinal Vidal is the Holy Cardinal of Cebu. Cardinal Vidal once said that because we live in "Extraordinary Times" we must be willing to do the "Extraordinary" by having "Perpetual Adoration" in order to obtain "Extraordinary Graces and Blessings from God".

Cardinal Vidal works very hard to bring about perpetual adoration in every one of his parishes. Cardinal Sin of Manila has made it the most "Eucharistic" Diocese in the world with over 100 Chapels of perpetual adoration.

God Bless them both !!

A Message concerning my Blog

Dear Friends in Jesus and Mary,

My Blog will be on Holiday from May- July. I will resume blogging on the 20th of August.

Happy Holidays and Enjoy the Summer.

The Feast Day of Corpus Christi (The Body of Christ) was requested by Our Lord himself.

It was not a feast day that the Church in its wisdom decided to include in the liturgical calendar. It was a feast day, rather, that Jesus Christ requested through extraordinary means by appearing to his servant Saint Juliana and showing her a Moon that he said was symbolic of the feast day that was needed, that he wanted, that he requested, the feast day of Corpus Christi.

And Saint Juliana said "But Jesus, we have a feast day Holy Thursday".

And Our Lord explained to her that Holy Thursday is also a feast day that celebrates the institution of the Holy Priesthood along with the institution of the Holy Eucharist.

He wanted one special feast day set aside in honor of "His Real Presence in the most Blessed Sacrament".

For he said as the Church progressed in time, faith in His Real Presence would dimnish to the point where it would need a feast day to remind the people that he is really here.

"That the Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ".

That this is not a symbol of Jesus Christ, but the reality of Jesus Christ himself. The same Jesus born in Bethlehem two thousand years ago, the same Jesus who died on the Cross for our sins, and the same Jesus that rose again on Easter Sunday is really, truly, bodily, and personally present in the most Blessed Sacrament.

The Connection and Similarity between Corpus Christi and the Sacred Heart :

In the Month of June, we celebrate the feast day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Why do we celebrate Corpus Christi on Sunday and the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday ??

Again, this is because this is what Our Blessed Lord specifically requested.

Through his servant Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque he requested a feast day in honor of the Sacred Heart, within the octave of the feast day of Corpus Christi, because he wanted to spotlight, highlight, focus, emphasize, dramatize, :

The Message of the Sacred Heart is Eucharistic. Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is Eucharistic. Jesus Christ appeared to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

And his first words were "Please look at this heart which has loved mankind so much, consumed itself for love of man, and yet is so little loved in return.

His request to her was an appeal to mankind to be loved in the Blessed Sacrament, the same request that goes back to the Gospel, "Could you not watch one hour with me ??"

For the Heart of Christ, as he himself described it, is a burning furnace of Love. When Saint Margaret Mary looked at the Heart of Christ, it was like a million burning suns on fire with love, for each and every one of us.

How can we truly believe in the "Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament knowing that Saint Pope John Paul -2 was right when he said that Jesus Christ waits for us in this "Sacrament of Love" with a love that no human tongue can tell for the Lord loves us as no one else loves us and not be moved to come to him every single day" ??

28th April Feast Day of Saint Louis Marie Grignon De Montfort and Catholic Classics written by this Awesome Saint

April 28 is the Feast Day of Saint Louis Marie De Montfort - A Great Marian Apostle.

He wrote 4 Books which have become quite popular among catholics in the past 4 decades. They are as follows:

1) A Letter to the Friends of the Cross

2) The Secret of Mary

3) The Secret of the Rosary

4) True Devotion to Mary.

Here is something about his life in France where he was born and ordained a Catholic Priest.

Saint Louis Marie De Montfort was the second son of his Parents, who had 18 children in all. Several of his brothers and sisters died very young.

He was baptized on February 1, 1673 the day after his birth. His Father was a Lawyer in the town of Montfort in Brittany, France. His Mother was a pious hard - working woman who gave him his first lessons in the spiritual life.

When he was 12 years old, he was sent to the College of Saint Thomas Becket which was taught by the Jesuit Fathers in the City of Rennes.

Already in college, he began to grow greatly in holiness. His love of holiness centred around his deep devotion to the Blessed Mother of God, of whom he was later to become an "Internationally known Apostle".

He entered the Seminary of Saint Sulpice and in that famous house of studies his great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary came to greater strength.

He consecrated himself entirely to Jesus through Mary. He formed a society among the seminarians to practice perfect devotion to the Blessed Virgin.

On June 5, 1700 He was ordained a Catholic Priest by Bishop Bazan De Flamanville of Perpignan. He spent several days preparing for his first mass.

He offered the "Holy Sacrifice of the Mass" for the first time in the Chapel of the Blessed Virgin in the Church of Saint Sulpice.

He wanted to go to America as a missionary but was refused. Instead, he became one of those preaching "Parish Missions" in his own country.

The Catholic and Marian Masterpiece - True Devotion to Mary:

Over the course of time and after some years, he wrote a book "True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin" which still continues to be considered one of the greatest "Marian Masterpieces and Classics of all time".

The perfect devotion he wrote of and taught in his preaching and in his book consists in an act of total consecration to Jesus through Mary.

Saint Louis Marie De Montfort was and is the great "Marian Apostle". He lived what he preached.

One can learn how to live consecration to Mary's Immaculate Heart by prayerfully studying his Masterpiece "True Devotion to Mary".

Those who would say De Montfort's "True Devotion" is of another age and culture have not properly understood or appreciated his message.

It is timeless causing many to consider it inspired. It is the Church of the present and past century that glorified this Saint whom "Divine Providence" used to usher in the Age of Mary.

Divine Mercy Sunday 2015 12th April Merciful Jesus Christ, I trust in you A Personal Story

I love the Divine Mercy Message and Devotion 24-7-365.

My Family and I have promoted the Divine Mercy Message and Devotion in Mumbai, India vigorously for more than 25 years.

We have spread the Divine Mercy Message and Devotion to Cities in Central India and in North India like Lucknow, Indore, and Patna to mention a few.

In 1994 and in 1995, we got in touch with Divine Mercy Information Centre, Hong Kong which was run by a Chinese Catholic Evangelist by the name of Mr John Bosco Wong. He was a Third Order Carmelite.

Mr John Bosco Wong sent my family tons of Divine Mercy Literature in 1996 and in 1997 meant for propagation in India.

We used to take literature with us to various Catholic Churches in Bandra West, a Suburb of Mumbai like Mount Carmel's Church, Saint Peter's Church, and Saint Andrew's Church to mention a few.

We used to distribute Divine Mercy Literature to Catholics explaining to them the significance of the Image of the Merciful Jesus Christ, the 3.00 Prayer, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and the Feast of Divine Mercy Sunday. This was done throughout 1996 and 1997 respectively.

My Parents were instrumental in getting the approval from Cardinal Ivan Dias of the Archdiocese of Mumbai in 1999 for Divine Mercy Sunday to be declared a "Church Feast" in the Archdiocese of Mumbai.

Our Objective in promoting this beautiful devotion was to make known the all encompassing love of Merciful Jesus Christ for suffering and sinful humanity.

In January 1999, My Father was engaged in some masonry work on the terrace of the Bungalow where we live.

While doing some work on the terrace, he lost his balance and fell 25 feet to the ground. He miraculously survived this fall only because he used to promote the Divine Mercy Message and Devotion on his travels to various cities in India when he used to deliver continuous "Medical Education" Lectures. He is a Physician by Profession.

The fact that only a bone was injured in his right leg is an "Astounding Miracle" of the Divine Mercy in his life. Jesus Christ, the Divine Mercy protected him from serious harm and serious injury.

Now in 2015, We as a family are extremely happy to know that the Divine Mercy Message and Devotion is spreading like wildfire all across peninsular India and all across the world.

Let me conclude. Our Lord Jesus Christ asked Saint Faustina to see to it that the Feast of Divine Mercy be established on the First Sunday after Easter.

This would be a day of total forgiveness of sins for those who receive Holy Communion and go to Confession.

Happy Divine Mercy Sunday to one and all.

Note 1: Please check out an awesome and magnificent Website on Divine Mercy Sunday. please read it.

Divine Mercy Sunday

Note 2 : Unceasingly pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and 3.00 Prayer for the salvation of souls.

The 3.00 Prayer

You expired Jesus Christ, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy envelop the whole world and empty yourself out upon us.

O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You.

On December 2, 1981 Saint Pope John Paul -2 began Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration with the Blessed Sacrament exposed in a Chapel at Saint Peter's in Rome and appealed to all Parishes to do the same.

He exhorted us to fill our Churches outside the timetable of Masses with hours of adoration and prolonged periods of Exposition as an expression of our personal commitment to our Eucharistic Lord and Saviour.

Jesus Christ himself points to the ways, the means, and the source of renewal when he says "Come to Me" for "I will refresh you" (Matthew 11:28). And again, "See I make all things new". striking is the fact that Jesus Christ did not whisper it, nor did he speak in a normal voice.

Rather, Sacred Scripture says that he "cried out" when he said :"If anyone thirsts, let him come to me. Let him drink who believes in me". Scripture has it "from within him rivers of living waters shall flow." (John 7 : 37-39)

The Blessed Sacrament is Jesus Christ living in our midst to fulfill a promise made long ago: "I myself will pasture my sheep. I myself will give them rest, says the Lord God. The Lost, I will seek out, the strayed I will bring back, the injured I will bind up, the sick I will heal". ( Ezekiel 34 : 14-16). The Blessed Sacrament is Jesus Christ, the God- Man sacred in his divinity, sacred in his humanity.

In his first encyclical letter "Redemptor Hominis" Saint Pope John Paul - 2 exhorted that "Every member of the church, specially Bishops and Priests must be vigilant in seeing that this "Sacrament of Love" shall be at the center of the life of the people of God, so that through all the manifestations of worship due to it, Christ shall be given back "Love for Love" and truly become the "life of our souls".

No Matter how  busy Saint Pope John Paul -2 was, or how many important people he had to see, he made sure he spent time with the most important person of all : "JESUS CHRIST IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT".

Every Day, he used to spend 2 or 3 Hours in his eucharistic presence. and he used to tell the whole world that this was where he used to get all his energy to do so much for God and his people.

Conclusion :

Imagine the Pope inviting you to Rome to spend an hour with him : you  would feel like the most important person in the world. Who would not see this as a great honor and do anything to get there ??

Yet it is a much greater honor to spend an hour with Jesus Christ himself. Those who kept company with Jesus Christ in the Gospel stand out as men and women of great faith- they were his chosen friends who really believed in him.

They were ridiculed then, but are admired now. Those who keep company with Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament are his friends today who will stand out for all eternity for their faith in "His Real Presence".

Feast of Saint Joseph 19th March 2015

When we think of Saint Joseph we normally think of a grey - bearded old man as depicted in many medieval paintings.

The Gospels say very little about Saint Joseph, only that he was a "Just Man". Joseph himself never speaks in the Gospel stories and so our knowledge of Saint Joseph is somewhat shrouded in silence.

Yet, it is this silence that gives the greatest witness to the type of man that Saint Joseph was. He was a humble carpenter who didn't draw attention to himself but fulfilled his daily duties to the best of his ability with tremendous faith in God - A Faith which required him to believe that his wife had conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and to take her into his Home !!

Declared Patron of the Universal Church, by Pope Pius, the Ninth in 1870, Saint Joseph has a universal importance that no other saint (except Our Lady) has.

The Church looks to Saint Joseph to help her in all her necessities. These needs are reflected by the titles which Saint Joseph has been given by the Church. He is Patron of Families, of the dying, of the sick, of workers, and of marriages.

How many of us have parents, children, or loved ones who need help in some of the above areas ?? God has chosen Saint Joseph to be a special intercessor for these most fundamental of human needs.

Saint Therese of Avila says this of Saint Joseph : " To other saints the Lord seems to have given grace to help us in one or other of our necessities, but of this glorious saint my experience is that he succours us in them all and that the Lord wishes to teach us that as he was himself subject to him on earth, in like manner in Heaven, He still does all he asks".

As Jesus Christ, has given us his Mother Mary to be our Mother, so also he has given us Saint Joseph to be our guardian, helper, and protector in all things.

For the Church, Lent like Advent is a "powerful season" a season of waiting and preparing and therefore a time for sacrifice, repentance, and purification. But, in our hedonistic society of today these words seem to strike a rather discordant note.

So, is it fair to ask : how do we speak today about sacrifice and how do we practice it ??

Lent lasts for 40 days - as many days as Jesus Christ spent in the desert before he took on his mission of salvation. 40 is a sacred number in the Bible : the Deluge lasted for 40 Days, Moses spent 40 days on Mount Sinai in the presence of the Lord, besides it was the temporal distance between the Resurrection and the Ascension.

It was for Forty Years that the Jews remained in the Desert before they entered the "Promised Land". It was the duration of the reign of Solomon. In fact, the number 40 appears innumerable times in the Bible.

In the past, when times were tough and people were pious and fervent the Church imposed strict rules about some things: penances even harsh ones like fasting and austerity.

For Example : The Bourgeois were supposed to abstain from meat and forego hunting as a sport reserved for the nobility. This saved them from gout and other diseases. Fishermen abstained from fishing allowing the replenishment of marine life and farmers in this season promoted the fertility of farm animals.

They were also forbidden from any forms of public entertainment; that was why people wore purple characteristic of the season of Lent.

Today, we are pampered tremendously, with just two days of fasting and abstinence (which are official).

We are allowed all the culinary delights we crave. How can we live like this in Lent and be spiritually alert at home with our families.

There could be moderation in what we eat, both as regards our choices ( holding back on certain things) for example fried and fast foods and buying only seasonal produce etc.

But there are things we can fast and abstain from that are both modern and necessary. Fasting from the noise, the noise of everyday life like the turned on T.V. and headphones at full volume, frivolous talk, gossip, verbal bullying that sometimes hurts more than physical assault in order to find silence in meditation and prayer.

To abstain from T.V. : fix a day in the week when you won't switch it on so that you may rediscover the joys of reading a good catholic book/christian classic or be able to have a heart- to - heart talk with a member of your family rather than looking at the T.V. Screen all the time.

You will rediscover the liberating feeling of a "Text Free" existence which allows you to discover that it is actually not necessary.

These "Disciplines" are not easy to obtain, but they serve to make us aware of what we have all become slaves to, leading us to a continuous hype and craving for gratification of one kind or another.

There is yet another problem: the media and secular society often present Catholic Christianity as the "religion of renunciation" but if properly understood it is a religion that offers us proposals for living a wholesome life.

Lent, therefore must not be celebrated as a time of "DEPRIVATION" but rather as a gesture of love and a time of rediscovery of yearning for personal growth and enrichment.

Here is an opportunity to retrieve oneself and "replenish" our empty selves.

Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes 11th of February 2015

The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes is celebrated on the 11th of February.

On this important Feast Day, here are my thoughts:

The French Shrine of Lourdes is famous and known throughout the world. In this picturesque French Town which is at the foot of the Pyrenees, Our Lady appeared eighteen times to Saint Bernadette Soubirous in 1858.

Confirming the dogma proclaimed by Blessed Pope Pius, the Ninth four years earlier, the Mother of God spoke to the little visionary and presented herself as "The Immaculate Conception".

She was required to go to the River Gave to where the water miraculously gushed out in which millions of pilgrims bathe and are miraculously cured of many sicknesses as has been established by a rigorous Medical Centre.

Even at Lourdes, Our Lady left a Message. "Penance, Penance, Penance".

Don Bosco - that great Marian Saint of the nineteenth century told his boys of Valdocco of these miraculous events during the novena of the Immaculate Conception in the year 1858.

Therefore, while the world changed in the nineteenth century, Our Lady visited us.

She presented herself in splendid, matchless, and indescribable beauty as all the seers attested.

She understood that history could take an unfortunate twist and that people could forget God, misuse their freedom, causing very grave suffering, destruction, and death.

Is that not what is happening today ??

Rene Laurentin, a great Mariologist explains that Mother Mary, being the closest to Christ is in the communion of Saints, closest to the members of his Mystical Body, the Church.

For this reason, she visits us in order to help prevent irreparable disaster from destroying Christians in particular and the whole world in general.

She incessantly repeats, albeit in different words, what she said at Cana in Galilee: "Do whatever he tells you".

LENT 2015

Dear Friends in Jesus and Mary,

This Year, we celebrate Ash Wednesday - the beginning of Lent on the 18th of February 2015.

During this Lenten Season, one of the most common themes that keeps coming to us through "Holy Scripture" is that of "conversion and repentance".

You might be tempted to "Not Listen" as it comes to us once more this year. We are more likely, not to want to face the fact that we are in need of conversion and repentance which becomes a prerequisite for reconciliation.

Lent to me is an awesome "Liturgical Season".

We are called upon to sacrifice and renew ourselves not only physically but also mentally. To me, it is a season of "Unfathomable Spiritual Riches".

Please read my forthcoming post @ my blog which is all about "Lent - A Time of Rediscovery".

Lenten Blessings to each one of us and specially to the readers of my Blog.

Dear Friends in Jesus and Mary,

This is an excellent Catholic Classic in more ways than one. This is a Popular Abridgement of 4 Volumes which exists.

There are several books written on "Our Blessed Mother" - based on Scripture, Her Apparitions, Private Revelations by the Fathers of the Church, the Saints etc but none has been beautifully revealed as that by the Venerable Mary of Agreda titled : "CITY OF GOD".

Few have heard about her and still fewer know about this book :"CITY OF GOD". The Divine History and Life of the Virgin Mother of God.

It is only by a sheer miracle and grace of almighty God, that one comes upon such a fantastic documentation on the masterpiece of God's creation namely "MARY".

The four Volumes each containing some 600 pages touch upon the Conception, the Incarnation, the Transfixion, and the Coronation.

Manifested by the Queen of Heaven herself in the 16th Century to her handmaid, Sister Mary of Jesus, Superioress of the Convent of the Immaculate Conception of the town of Agreda of the Province of Burgos in Spain under obedience to the regular observance of the seraphic father Saint Francis, for new enlightenment of the World for rejoicing of the Catholic Church and encouragement of men, "This Piece of Work has been approved by several Popes and Cardinals.

As soon as the "City of God" appeared in print, it was welcomed and extolled as a most wonderful work. The different translations found no less enthusiastic welcome in nearly all the European Countries.

It secured the immediate approbation and encomium of the ordinaries, the Universities of the learned and Eminent Men of Christendom. There is probably no other book which was so closely scrutinized by those in authority, both civil and religious, and afterwards so signally approved as the "CITY OF GOD".

By Order of Pope Innocent the Eleventh, Pope Alexander the Eighth, Pope Clement the Ninth, Pope Benedict the Thirteenth, and Pope Benedict the 14th, it was repeatedly subjected to the closest scrutiny and declared authentic worthy of devout perusal and free from error.

The Title "Venerabilis" was conferred upon the Author. A Large sized Volume would be required to record the praises and commendations written in favour of the great "CITY OF GOD".

The popularity and excellence of the great history of the Mother of God is also evidenced by its widespread diffusion.

It has appeared in over 60 editions in Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, German, Latin, Arabic, Greek, and Polish.

It appears quite providential that the first English translation of this great work should have been reserved for our own times.

The Translator and Promoter of the "CITY OF GOD" Fiscar Marison began his work on the Feast of the Assumption 1902 and completed it on the Feast of the Anunciation, 1912.

Our Lady of the Holy Eucharist

The Blessed Mother is both Eucharistic Lady and Queen of the Holy Rosary. The Angelic Salutation "Hail Mary" that recurs throughout the Rosary that ended up in Mary's acceptance of Jesus Christ physically in her womb bonds the Rosary with the Eucharist.

Linking Earth to Heaven :

As the bearer of both, she draws us closer to the latter through the former. Mary's Rosary is indeed a magnetic chain that pulls us towards the Eucharist -"The Centre of Catholic - Christian Life".

It is obvious that the Rosary is called "The Sacred Chain linking Earth to Heaven".

It has been said of Mother Mary that she conceived Jesus Christ in her heart before she conceived him in her womb. Mary's virginal womb was the first tabernacle that housed Jesus Christ.

Much more than just sheltering the Incarnate Word of God within her, Mary nurtured, loved, and adored him "Who" is her God in her own flesh and blood.

Mary's Life from the Anunciation to the Assumption was a constant contemplation of the Holy Face of Jesus Christ. While she lived the sacrificial aspect of the Holy Eucharist through the sorrowful mysteries of Jesus Christ, she sang the thanksgiving aspect of the Holy Eucharist through her "Magnificat".

The interior disposition of the humble Mother of Jesus Christ, who "Treasured" his every word in her heart and "Pondered" over every mystery associated with him, made her "The Lady of the Eucharist".

Mary's exhortation from the wedding feast in Cana "Do whatever he tells you", corroborates the command of Jesus Christ at the institution of the Holy Eucharist, "Do this in remembrance of me".

Mother Mary was the centre and cementing bond of the Early Christian Apostolic Community where she received her Eucharistic Son in the form of Bread and Wine with unspeakable joy.

Mother Mary moves among us armed with the "Holy Rosary" - Her Spiritual Weapon that defeats evil and wins us to God. As the Mother and Model of the Church, she stands besides every altar reinforcing our faith in "Him" who changes Bread and Wine into his "Body and Blood" as he changed water into wine at Cana.

Mother of Grace :

As the "Mother of Grace", Mary is the mediatrix of all graces. All grace won for us by Christ comes to us through Mother Mary.

Even though Mary is not omnipotent, she dispenses the infinite graces of God through her maternal intercession. If we contemplate the Holy Face of Jesus Christ with Mary our Heavenly Mother through the mysteries of the Holy Rosary, she is sure to draw us closer to Our Eucharistic Lord.

Conclusion :

The Maxim "To Jesus Through Mary" in its practical application goes "Through Rosary to the Eucharist".
